About The Maker

Golden State Pickle Works is a Sonoma County–based small-batch fermented foods company founded in 2014 by Sam Paone, aka the Chief Fermentista. The line spans lacto-fermented vegetables, vinegar pickles, hot sauces, drinking elixirs, and Collective Cultures probiotic condiments — all made by hand, using produce sourced directly from local farms. Sam also hosts Jarring Everything on Eat This TV and leads fermentation workshops from their Sonoma kitchen and all around the Bay Area.
