Golden Milk Kefir

INGREDIENTS

1 quart of fermented milk kefir

1 tbsp coconut oil

1 tbsp raw honey

1 tsp of the prepared turmeric paste (1/2 cup water, 1/8 cup extra virgin coconut oil; 1/4 cup Golden Milk blend or make your own blend using 1/4 cup turmeric powder; 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper)

First, make turmeric paste:

Add the Golden Milk blend or turmeric and water in a pan. Heat gently and whisk until it thickens to a paste (5-10 minutes). Once thickened, add the pepper (omit if using the Golden Milk blend) and coconut oil. Pepper and coconut oil help our bodies absorb the benefits of turmeric. Keep stirring to ensure that all ingredients are mixed properly. Allow it to cool. Store in refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.

Then, use turmeric paste to make golden kefir:

Combine 1 teaspoon of prepared Golden milk or turmeric paste with prepared milk kefir, coconut oil and honey in a blender until smooth. Store in refrigerator for 1-2 weeks.
